Here is a list of the public footpaths within the Llanwnda Community Council area
NUMBER - DESCRIPTION
0 Welsh Highland Railway trackbed from Tryfan Junction to Bryngwyn has been leased to Gwynedd County Council, and is used as a public footpath. Although part of the path is inaccessible in the village of Rhostryfan, a short detour through the village enables walkers to continue their journey along the track bed. Information boards have been installed along the path by the Llanwnda Community Council which give an insight into the history of the old railway track.
1 CHATAM AND CHATAM EMBANKMENT FOOTPATH. Starts from Chatam gate through Chatam yard over bridge along embankment to Community Boundary.
2 & 2A Starts at Storehouse through Glanrafon yard and along embankment and joins footpath No.87 Llandwrog
3 & 3A Starts at Community Boundary by Collfryn through the yard at Rhedynog Felen Fawr to Ty Mawr, and branches off in Ty Mawr fields, one branch going to Chatam gate and the other to Pont Storehouse.
4 Starts at Parish boundary by Pencefnydd along through Rhedynog Fawr and Cae Glas to Tyddyn Bychan gate.
5 Starts at stile opposite Tyddyn Seipar across Pengwern and Hen Foryd field exit Bonc Foryd.
6 Starts at Foryd Newydd gate through Felin Bont Faen to Bont Faen bridge.
7 Starts at Saron chapel through fields and joins path No.6 at Felin Bont Faen. Branch at Tai Newyddion leads westwards and south-westwards along cart road to join the unclassified road from Groesffordd Saron to Foryd.
8 Starts at Rhedynong Felen farm across arable fields to Llanwnda village.
9 Starts along a portion of one of Gwylfa fields and through a kissing gate, over an iron footbridge and on by the hedge side of two fields and finishing on the lane which leads from Dinas to Saron.
10 Starts at a stile alongside gate leading to Geufron Farm across fields and following river Gwyrfai which forms part of parish boundary. Path goes past Ty Cerrig Farm and makes it exit at Pontfaen, also exit at Penrallt Ty Uchaf.
11 Starts at gate at Rhyd Galed across fields. Path goes past Penycae at Tai’n Lon.
12 Starts by Benar on Pwllheli road across fields belonging to Bodaden and terminates by Ty Lon Bodaden on the Rhostryfan road.
13 Starts across Dinas Railway station bridge past Llanwnda parish church, south east end of church cottage, northward in the direction of Bontnewydd, across railway line via concrete stile then in a south west dirction to Ffrwd Cae Du.
14 Starts at Caer Moel farmhouse and across three fields in south direction to Gadlys, one branch going south-east to join FP 15, the other going through farmyard in a north-westerly direction steeply as far as spring. At this point path branches west towards Caernarfon – Penygroes road, the path then rises towards Garth y Gro farm and ends along a cart track opposite Glanrhyd Chapel.
14A This path is the same one for three quarters of its length as the preceeding path, the latter part branching westward from the point marked ‘spring’ on OS map.
15 Starts at Efail Dolydd through Cefn east of Gadlys along past Cefnfaes Cemetery, through Bodaden fields to Rhostryfan road.
15A From path 15 at Cefn Hendre west to road by Maen Coch.
16 Starts alongside old site of Graianfryn Chapel, proceeding in a north-easterly direction for half of its length, then south-east for the latter half, exit was made at Maen Coch on the Caernarfon to Penygroes road.
17 Starts at Hen Gastell gate through Hen Gastell fields to Bont Dolydd.
18 Starts at Bont Dolydd through back of Traian Farm to Cefn fields and branches off below Penrhosgwta one part joining Path Number 15 below Gadlys, the other part to parish boundary at Cae Garw.
18A Starts at Efail Dolydd and joins path No.18 by Traian Farm.
19 Starts at stile opposite Park Gate and proceeds mostly in an easterly direction. The last part of the path runs parallel to th back of Tan y Cefn terrace and finishes at a stile above Llanwnda railway bridge.

101 Starts at Tanrallt to common via Gors Goch Isaf.
102 Llys Ifor to common via Gors Goch Isaf, joining path no 101 below Gors Goch.
103 Starts at Llwyn Celyn to Bryn Gro via Cerrig Sais.
104 Starts at Bryn Crin Farm via Brithdir to Llwyn Onn.
105 Starts at Llwyn Onn via Brithdir to Bryn Gro.
106 Starts at Brithdir to Cerrig Sais and Gors and common.
107 Starts at Bryn Bach to Brithdir Farm proceeding via Cerrig Sais to common.
108 Starts at Ty’n Weirglodd via Ty’n Rhosgadfan to road by cemetery.

110 Starts from the county road from a point between Penrhos and Eryri Wen through a field gate to run in a northerly direction around Penrhos to a stone wall north of the well. The path runs north/north-easterly over a stile for a further 14m before turning north-easterly after a further 37m at the side of an agricultural shed. The path then runs north-westerly for a further 9m at the frond of the shed before again turning north-easterly to run along the access track to Ty Hen before joining the county road opposite the social club near Glanfa.(PATH DIVERSION ORDER, 2003)

112 Starts at Fron Wydr via Cae Rodyn and Cae Sais to Rhostryfan.
113 Starts at Bryn Gwilym via Bryn Ioan, Cae Sais to Hafoty Ty Newydd.
114 Starts at Bod Gadfan via Garnedd to Pen y Bryn Isaf.
115 Starts at Rhosgadfan Cemetery via Bod Garad to Bontnewydd.
116 Starts at Rhosgadfan Cemetery via Bod Garad to Bontnewydd.

119 Starts from the Rhosgadfan road and runs along the access track to Cae Rhug. It leaves the access track via a field gate after 34m and enters the field in front of Cae Rhug and runs in a north-easterly direction along the field boundary to the field corner. The path then proceeds through an opening in the field boundary and continues north-eastwards alongside the field boundary to join path 118, which runs along the access track to Gaerwen Farm. 126 Starts at the main road by Bryn Derwen across the fields to Ty Newydd joining Bryn Menai and Glanywern path.
127 Starts at the road under Glanrafon, across the fields to Cae Coch.
128 Starts at Dolwar passing Bryn Elen and joins Hafoty Ty Newydd- Tan y Gelynnen path.
129 Starts at Llwynimpia to Cae Goch also from Llwynimpia southwards over parish boundary.
130 Starts at road by Horeb Chapel – through fields past Tanyfron and Pant Coch to Cae Coch.
131 Starts at Tyddyn Canol joining Bryn Gwynfor path to Tanyrallt.
132 Starts at Tyddyn Parthle – through fields past Bryn Beddau and out to Rhostryfan – Menai View road beyond Wernlas Ddu.
133 Starts at path 132 to Wernlas Ddu.
134 Starts at the Class III road at Tyddyn Seipar running south crossing path no 3 to join another Class II road at Afon Carrog.
135 Starts at the Class III road at Tyddyn Seipar running south-east to join path no 4 at Tyddyn Bychan.
136 Starts at Tyn Lon on Rhostryfan – Ffrwd Cae Du Class III road running past Bodaden in a south-easterly direction to the Rhos-Isa – Menai View Class III road near Tyn y Weirglodd.
137 Starts at path no 118 near Rhostryfan Station running north-east past Hafoty Wernlas crossing path no 116 to join path 115 at Bod Garad.
138-142 Not in Llanwnda.
143 Starts by a stile a few metres from Pant Dolyn in an easterly direction to join path 19, Llandwrog north west of Gilwern Isaf.
144 From path 21, Llandwrog by Gilwern Uchaf north easterly to the public road at Rhos Isaf.
145 Footpath starts off public road below Tryfan Hall and forms part of the farm track leading to Gerlan Farm with a stile on the left hand side just before entering the farm yard. There are 3 stiles in all, with two small wicket gates over two of the stiles. The path emerges on to the Tryfan-Rhos Isaf Road about 100 metres on the Rhos Isaf side of a terrace of houses known as Bryn Peris.
146 Footpath starts at Tryfan –Rhos Isaf road some 150 metres north of Bryn Peris Terrace across rough ground to Gilwern making a right angled turn here in a northerly direction and to near Cae Garw. It emerges onto a lane which ultimately leads on teo the main road leading to Rhostryfan.
147 Starts as above from Cae Carw to Rhos Isaf.
148 Bridle road from Bryn Eden behind Bryn Glas onto main road in Rhos Isaf.
149 Starts the same as path no 145 across fields at Gerlan over three stiles with small gates over and onto lane at the parish boundary near Glan Llyn, Rhos Isaf.
150 Starts at continuation of path no 149 but branching off in a north- easterly direction across rough grazing land, path emerges into a lane at this point and continues in a north-easterly direction emerging on the main Rhostryfan-Rhosgadfan road by Horeb Chapel.
151 Starts at the same point as path no 150 but branches off beyond Coed y Brain in an easterly direction across some very rough ground strewn with boulders and gorse until it crosses the track of the Old Welsh Highland Railway. It enters onto a Cart Road at this point which goes up to the farmyard at Hafoty Ty Newydd where the path forms the farm road which leads in a northerly direction and emerges on the Rhostryfan-Rhosgadfan main road below the village of Rhosgadfan.
152 Branch off path no 151 emerging eventuall onto the public road leading from Tryfan up to Ardal y Bryn.
153 From path 32, Llandwrog by Cae Haidd Bach northerly to Hafoty Ty Newydd.
154 Starts in a southerly direction from Hafoty Ty Newydd to path 33, Llandwrog.
155 This path leads off the public road from Rhosgadfan to the Hen Gapel Moelfry Mawr just south of site of Hermon Chapel. It continues across open moorland in a south westerly direction and emerges on to the Rhosgadfan-Cesarea main road just south of Tan y Braich.
156 From path 146 south of Gilwern south westerly to join path 81, Llandwrog near Gilwern Isaf.
157 From the east side of the county road near Maen Gwyn Cottage along the lane, turning north across yard of old terrace, then east to join track to Alexandra Quarry. From the quarry the path follows the parish boundary to the OS triangulation station on the summit of Moel Tryfan.
158 From path 46, Llandwrog north to Tyddyn Engan.
159 From path 2, Betws Garmon to path 160.
160 From path 114, north east to join path 3, Betws Garmon.
